New classroom

High Bank Day Nursery has further increased the learning opportunities for children after investing £80,000 in a new classroom.

Known as the ‘Curiosity Cabin’, the timber framed building was opened recently at our farm-based nursery in Stapleton, near Darlington.

It sits next to, and complements, a large poly-tunnel which was converted into an ‘outdoor’ classroom in 2020 to provide pre-school children with their own separate ‘bubble’ after the nursery re-opened following a closure enforced by Government Covid-19 restrictions.

Cricket sponsorship

Children who used to attend High Bank Day Nursery are now wearing the name proudly on their sleeves as part of a cricket sponsorship.

We are sponsoring the Richmondshire Cricket Club youth section during the 2021 and 2022 season.

This means the nursery’s logo can be seen on the shirts worn by the different age groups who play for Richmondshire, namely the under-9s, under-11s, under-12s, under-13s and under-15s team.

Sponsored walk

A mum who is fundraising to help her one-year-old son and other children who have suffered a brain injury has described how she “has never been more moved in my life” by staff at High Bank who recently completed a sponsored walk.

Laura Anscomb had no intention of sending her 19-month-old son Vinnie to nursery until she saw an advert on Facebook for High Bank.
