Young learners at High Bank received a special send-off as they prepare to start a new life at ‘big school’.
Seventeen children recently took part in a special graduation ceremony.
Whilst Covid-19 restrictions unfortunately meant parents were not able to be present this year, the whole ceremony was recorded and put on the nursery’s Facebook page immediately after, so mums, dads, siblings, and grandparents could share in the special moment.
The children proudly donned gowns and mortarboards for the event, which involved a singsong and the presentation of their graduation certificates.
The afternoon ended with a party tea and graduation cake.
Zara Watkinson, High Bank Day Nursery Manager, said: “Although it’s sad to say goodbye to children, some of whom have been with us since they were babies, the graduation ceremony is always one of the highlights of the year, and this was no exception.
“It was a real shame we couldn’t have parents present but we know they understood the reasons why and that the next best thing was to watch it on video.
“It’s a lovely way to mark the end of the children’s journey at High Bank and hopefully they are leaving with lots of happy memories of their time here.”graduation ceremony, high bank day nursery, pre-school
