With a degree in early childhood studies, Emma Grant is certainly well qualified when it comes to looking after, and understanding, young children.
The degree, which was taken at Leeds Trinity University, looks at what shapes children’s personalities and behaviour, and how early years education can help them to reach their full potential.
So, after joining High Bank in September 2021, Emma, 33, is now using what she has learned to support children in our tweenie room.
Emma has worked in various nurseries but is enjoying her time at High Bank.
She says: “It’s a great setting with a fantastic outdoor area and children gain experience that they wouldn’t get in many other nurseries because they are interacting with farm animals and have access to a forest school and much more.
“And tweenies is a nice room to work in because you see the personalities of the children coming out and you help them to meet important milestones in their development.
“So, if we get it right at this stage it will help them for the rest of their lives.
“There’s not many jobs where you can have such a positive and crucial impact.”careers, early years practitioners, high bank day nursery, jobs, staff profiles
