Christmas fayre

High Bank Day Nursery will this weekend continue its fundraising efforts for a local mental health charity by staging a Christmas fayre.

The fayre will take place on Saturday 24th November from 10am until 1pm.

Visitors will be able to buy from various stalls selling items such as Christmas cards, flowers, fragrances, books and cakes.

There will also be lots of activities for children, including football coaching, tombola. guess the sweets in a jar competition and Santa’s Grotto.

Children who attend High Bank have been busy making gingerbread men, Christmas crackers and baubles and there will be a competition to judge the best on the day.

There will also be a raffle, bacon sandwiches (with vegetarian option), tea and coffee.

Money raised at the fayre will go to Darlington Mind, which is High Bank’s chosen charity for 2019/2020.

High Bank Day Nursery Owner Lesley Thompson said: “Our first event for Darlington Mind was a car boot sale and this raised £620, which got us off to a fantastic start.

“Now, we are hoping as many people as possible will be able to come on Saturday to the Christmas fayre so we can raise even more for a great local charity which does important work helping people with mental health issues.

“All the money we eventually give to Darlington Mind will be spent directly on supporting people in Darlington and the surrounding area.”
