Everyone at High Bank Day Nursery is aware of our corporate social responsibility (CSR) and this is one of the reasons why charitable support is important to us.
It’s our own little way of giving something back and saying thank you to the communities in which we work and the organisations who do such an amazing job, the vast majority of which are wholly reliant on fundraising to operate and provide their services.
We used to select a charity of the year and raise funds solely for them and recent beneficiaries include Herriot Hospice Homecare and Great North Air Ambulance.
Now, rather than selecting just one charity to support, we try to raise funds for as many organisations as possible, especially those close to our heart.
At the moment we are sponsoring a guide dog via The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, and also raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support through events such as cake sales.
Also recently we were delighted to sponsor the junior section of Richmondshire Cricket Club and we raised an amazing £1,800 after staff at the nursery completed a seven-mile sponsored walk to buy therapy equipment for Vinnie, a boy who attends High Bank. and other children affected by brain injury.
